Highlander vs. RAV4 Dimensions

If you’re looking for carrying space, you’re going to want to think about the dimensions for both vehicles. The RAV5 can seat five passengers, but the Highlander has the ability to carry 7 or 8 passengers. The RAV4 claims 139 cubic feet of cargo space, while the Highlander has 159 cubic feet of space.

RAV4 vs. Highlander Power

Both vehicles feature a good engine with lots of power. The Highlander offers a choice between a 2.74 liter four cylinder engine and a 3.5 liter V6. The Highlander offers 185 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The RAV4, though, has a 2.5 liter inline-4 cylinder hybrid engine and 176 horsepower and 172 lb-ft of torque. You’ll get good fuel economy with either, though, as both suggest a per gallon rating of 20 miles in the city and 30 miles on the highway. Both, though, have the ability to tow a vehicle. The Highlander can tow up to 5,000 pounds (enough for a small boat), while the RAV4 can tow between 1,500 and 3,000 lbs.

Highlander vs. RAV4 Interior

You’ll find both vehicles have an incredible interior. Inside the RAV4, you’ll find dual-zone automatic climate control. The Highlander offers front and rear air conditioning that can be upgraded to three zone automatic climate control. The RAV4 also offers heated seat options and a heated steering wheel.

The Highlander offers a variety of luxury upgrade options including perforated leather-trimmed front row seats and twelve-way adjustability and memory functions for the driver’s seat. You can also add on ventilated seats to keep you cool in the summer. Even the second row seats can be heated.

Both offer infotainment options based around the Entune audio system. Both start standard with a 6.1 inch touchscreen panel, but the Toyota Highlander can be upgraded as far as an eight inch touchscreen. The RAV4 can be upgraded to a 7-inch touch screen.
